MissZippy1 chats with McDougall

Well, you read the title. Don’t just sit there. Check out the interview here.

MissZippy1 was kind enough to keep me posted even after I yelled at her podiatrist. Runners can be forgiving.

Is Barefootery a word?

Nevermind… saw dictionary…

I’d have to agree that form is where it is at. With my recent trials and tribulations in mind, barefootin’ is easier to ensure proper form. With shoes, I need to work at it.

Neil Z: And to think my poor wife is a copy editor. She has to listen to my word mutilations an try not to flinch. Too much.

Jamoosh: when in shoes, go by sound. The quieter you are, the barefooteryer you are. Barefooterer. Barefootisher. Barefootyer. erer.

I still have to work really hard to switch between barefoot and shoes, and my shoes are very minimal. Like vibrams one fingers (only worn on trails or due to all the dang ice on the ground here!).
Once I ditched the shoes completely last summer I was able to find my form and improve and truly love running.

Thanks for sharing the link. While I love running’s mental and physical benefits, I’m uncertain I love running itself like McDougall does. Martinis, cage-fighting, black-jewel popcorn, yes, all loved, but running….

Thanks for the plug Josh! And you weren’t too mean!

Angie: Vibram One Finger!?! They stole my product!

mr loser: maybe you should try combining running with one of those.

MissZippy: in my mind, I’m a feared, ruthless tyrant.
